EMG-P The Bass pickup of choice since it was developed, the EMG-P uses short, squat coils that have very little resistance and plenty of inductance. Because the coils are not in series like the passive types, there's about twice as much low end as a passive pickup. Ceramic magnets are used to add clarity. Countless pros use it because they find it has a natural presence, powerful lows, punchy midrange, and superior definition. [+] |
EMG-P5 The EMG-P5 is just like an EMG-P, except it's sized for 5-string bass instead of a 4-string. |
EMG-P6 The EMG-P6 is just like an EMG-P, except it's sized for 6-string bass instead of a 4-string. The Bass pickup of choice since it was developed, |
EMG-LJ Also available as a separate unit, the EMG-LJ is the longer of the two pickups in the EMG-J Set and is usually located in the bridge position. The EMG-LJ has a full bodied sound that adds new dimensions to your bass playing. Featuring a very low ratio of resistance to inductance that increases the low frequency response, the EMG-LJ still maintains the narrow aperture for that typical Jazz Bass tone. |
EMG-J Set Sweeping harmonic overtones and clarity, the EMG-J has a full bodied sound that adds new dimensions to your bass playing. The EMG-J Pickups have a very low ratio of resistance to inductance that increases the low frequency response yet the EMG-J still maintains the narrow aperture for that typical Jazz Bass tone. Instead of the side by side Pole pieces the EMG-J uses a single-pole crescent shaped magnetic field to complement the radiused fingerboard. So whether you play fretted or fretless bass, you'll get incredible sound yet retain that traditional tone. |
EMG-JV Set The JV uses a mixture of old, new, and late model design ideas and was developed to deliver the classic tone and look of the traditional Jazz Bass*. It still maintains the "faded" attack of the offset pole pieces in combination with our lowest noise preamp. The EMG-JV should appeal to the "retro" in you, while the coil and electronic design will convince you that this is a pickup to be seriously considered. [+] |

EMG-LJV Also available as a separate unit, the EMG-LJV is the longer of the two pickups in the EMG-JV Set and is usually located in the bridge position. EMG-PJ Set Combining the EMG-P and a single EMG-LJ unit in a complete assembly, the EMG-PJ gives you improved flexibility for new dimensions of sound. The EMG-P has a full complement of low register power and The EMG-LJ provides a full midrange and extended high frequency response for a well defined attack. Used separately, or in combination, they offer a flexible selection of bass tones, accommodating both new and traditional bass playing styles. The result is pure capability; the capacity to produce everything from tight slap funk to smooth Motown groove, all with a sound that'll set you apart. [+] |

EMG-P5J Set The EMG-P5J is just like a PJ set, but it's sized for 5-string bass instead of a 4-string. |
EMG-MMCS The MM-CS is a direct replacement pickup for the Music Man Bass. Music Man’s introduction of the large profile pickup changed bass playing forever. The dual-coil MM-CS has wide spread bobbins (1 inch) combined with a large coil surface area that gives the EMG-MMCS a most amazing bass tone. Utilizing EMG’s popular CS (Ceramic and Steel) Design the MM-CS is agreat mixture of design, with ceramic magnets for a transparent high end with steeladded to increase the inductance for a powerful and warm low-end. It’s easy to get great clean tone, but it can also warm up for a great ballad. If you are looking for a bass pickup with a thunderous low-end, this is it. |
EMG-MMTW The "Twin" version of our Music Man Bass replacement is know as the MMTW. Based on our triple coil 89 Guitar Pickup the TW is two pickups in one, single-coil and dual-coil, and both are totally noiseless. The TW uses our popular ceramic and steel design for a nice transparent, not abusive high end along with a low-end that is just plain thunderous. Similar to our MM-CS the TW has wide spread bobbins (1 inch) combined with a large coil surface area that gives the EMG-TW a most amazing bass tone. The single coil pickup is the same as our Jazz Bass (J) Pickup, strong in mid-range. This is the perfect pickup if you’re planning on building a bass with only one pickup in the sweet spot. The MMTW comes with a push-pull pot that can be used as either a volume or tone control, or you can substitute a dpdt switch. When using two of the TW Pickups in the same instrument it is not recommended that BT or BQ Systems be used. Each pickup requires a push/pull pot for switching from single coil to dual coil so the balance control included with the system can’t be installed. If you want to use the balance control, consider switching single/dual coil outputs with a DPDT toggle switch(s) instead. |
EMG-MJ Set The MJ Set is for the Fender Mexican Jazz Bass*. Fender decided to use two of the same pickup sizes, rather than the short/long used on the standard Jazz Bass. The MJ is the same as our EMG-J Set but both pickups are the same |
